We, the people of South Africa,

Recognise the injustices of our past;

Honour those who suffered for justice and freedom in our land;

Respect those who have worked to build and develop our country; and

Believe that South Africa belongs to all who live in it, united in our diversity.

We therefore, through our freely elected representatives, adopt this Constitution as the supreme law of the Republic so as to

  • Heal the divisions of the past and establish a society based on democratic values, social justice and fundamental human rights;
  • Lay the foundations for a democratic and open society in which government is based on the will of the people and every citizen is equally protected by law;
  • Improve the quality of life of all citizens and free the potential of each person; and
  • Build a united and democratic South Africa able to take its rightful place as a sovereign state in the family of nations.

May God protect our people.

I’ll start this article by pointing out that you should never judge a man by his appearance, you should judge him by his actions. Most ideologies hold that people are not defined by that which they take from the world but rather by what they put forth into the world.

Arriving in Durban late on a Monday night, I was greeted by a familiar scent, a welcoming-air was hanging in the airport lounge. Among the crowd there was a man, the years of giving government the run-around seemed to give him an aura and a character that tells a story before he even spoke a word. Dressed like a man that values the simple but most important things in life. A man that radiates strength and happiness. A man so far outside the system that he cannot even be categorised.

We set off from King-Shaka airport to Richards bay, in the heart of Zululand. There is an air, an energy in Zululand that feels like falling into a heavenly cloud. Maybe it’s because it was a cloud of cannabis smoke.

On the drive we had a long discussion about views and beliefs, and let me tell you that I was happy to meet a man that shares so much of my ethos. I also reassessed my own ethos through listening to stories of a man who has seen and done so much more than you could not even begin to imagine.

I would liken him to Che Guevara. A father, friend, leader, a healer and rebel. One who is willing to risk life and limb to give others a glimmer of hope in a world where the systems banishes them to the darkness. But never have I met a man who wants to help the world, but also loves the risk that it brings, as much as this guy. The attitude of a warrior who revels in the opportunity to have a showdown with Johnny Law, and walks away stronger every time.

He shared stories about his experience with natural medicines, some that blew me away, the things this man has done for people is nothing short of miraculous. Even though he does not want to be called a hero, I believe he is a Super-Hero. The next day I met his side-kick, Stoned Bones. Together these guys are the South African Cheech and Chong, only with a bigger smoke cloud hanging over them. Our peace loving Starsky and Hutch, the Butch and Sundance that are taking the system down. They fight for the oppressed, the marginalised and discriminated individuals who have no where else to turn.

As the day starts, Bobby and Hennie start smoking their king-size joints (I mean 3-5 gram bats!!) and running a serious business at the same time. Not some side project but a seriously big enterprise that they built from scratch. With the necessary systems in place, the best, being a legitimate tax-paying business selling an “illegal substance” (Classified by the government as a poison). How could they do this with a ‘poison’? How can a poison be healing so many individuals? Why are they so loved by their home community?

These are two guys who have been judged by society for the better part of their lives but, carry no resentment towards people, on the contrary, they live to educate and heal. Even going as far as handing out medicines to those who cannot afford them and need them to save their lives. Bobby’s business runs in such a way that those who can afford it are paying for those who cannot. But it gets even better, they also use the profits to help the community, to rehabilitate the environment and boost business and tourism. Investing time, knowledge and money into struggling businesses and getting them back on track. And what do they expect in return, simply that those they help, help others in return! Spread the happiness, spread the love.

Their staff are amazing and also have some inspiring stories of how these two men brought light into their lives, loving every moment of what they do because, they dole out so much happiness that it is returned to them many times over. Among the needy there are some who have Bobby Greenhash ‘medical aid’ that involves only taking natural healing products and a lot of smoking. They are, contrary to what the medical industry would have you believe, thriving and productive individuals that have a work schedule based around the tidal chart. Working the necessary amount of hours and still getting in surf and sun time, whilst answering calls and taking orders right there from the beach!

I’ll leave you with this: These two men are demonised by the system and deemed to be criminals. I find it bitterly ironic because, in my eyes, and thousands of people around the world, they are not healers or heroes but Saints. By no means they are perfect and, like all men, they have had histories filled with both trials and triumphs. In the end we are all human, and anyone who aspires to do what they do is more of a Saint than many of the self anointed saints you find in certain institutions!

Much love to these guys! I seriously look up to them. If you need some light in your life you need not look any further.

For any cannabis related medicinal products contact them, their cannabis oils are extracted using cold pressed carbon extraction methods, that means no solvents, completely natural and safe. Their products are all-natural. And for the price you pay, is not just affordable, it is basically FREE!
